On the drive to work I listen to the Power Trip Morning Show on kfan. Here's the deal, I used to hate that show but oh how I've seen the light. Essentially the morning show is a mix of Bob and Tom (which I hate) and ESPN radio (which I dig). Star, Sludge and Hawkey constantly make me laugh with their satirical and insightful commentary. If you listen to the show you're given a lot of access and information into the hosts off air lives. For instance one thing that we've learned over the years is that Sludge loves chicken nuggets and french fries (a man cut from my own heart). So lately the Superstar and Hawkey have a bet with Sludge that he can't eat french fries for an entire 50 days. I know right, like why not bet him not to sleep for 50 days! Good grief. Well now very so often during the 7-8am hour they have a special call in guest. Can you guess what it is? Bet not.... its a FRENCH FRY!!!! But not any french fry an Italian French 'a Fry. The Italian French 'a Fry just questions Sludge about why he's abandoned his relationship with delicious potato family. It's seriously one of the funniest things I've ever heard on radio. Podcast it, its totally worth it.

Here's a pic of the crazy caller!

Italian French Fry

In other news there is a rumor of a Matthew, Courtney, and Seth podcast in the works. If it happens it will be sweet. Court and Seth have tons of music/film/tv knowledge, and I like to rip on a lot of things. A tried and true formula.

America Idol

David Cook is a complete tool.
Brooke and Jason are kinda amateurish.
David Archuleta doesn't have enough balls in his voice.
Syesha is alright.

I'm voting for Syesha, anyone except the 2 Davids. Although its probably gonna end up with those two as the finalists.
When did I become an American Idol watcher?

Hells Kitchen is on next and that show is totally awesome.

*update* the dudes in Hells Kitchen are a bunch of babies. one of the girls is totally gonna win. my bet is on Jen.

dear God, its me matthew. it'd be cool if it didn't snow again. just a suggestion, not a request.

belle and sebastian are my soundtrack to wet cold days. try the boy with the arab strap. its fantastic. also try the songs owen recorded for daytrotter, my favorite is possum for a peak.

i've decided that 80s cover bands in suburban bars are awesome. the i love the 80s crowd loves my dance moves, and in turn my dance moves love them.

i wasn't sure if i was gonna spend my economic stimulus money or not. i mean it would look pretty good in my savings account. but wouldn't it be pretty unpatriotic of me not to spend it? yes. so it better come sometime soon, because daddy needs new glasses and gas money.

i think i might start to be more artsy, then again maybe not.

i'm gonna learn how to skateboard.

i've been watching tegan and sara videos on youtube and remembered how awesome they were at the quest, and the zoo.

like george i wouldn't mind being an architect. i mean i like reading design magazines. thats the first step right?

caught a ride to the wild west.
thought about war.
questioned depleting bank accounts, art and physics,
would like to know why sports rules can be so subjective.
"it was grass stained jeans and incompletes and a girl from class to touch,
but you think about yourself too much and ruined who you loved."
spring and grace.
should be asleep, sleep is for the dead.
i haven't really had a ton of things to say this past week. so instead enjoy this photo of me

4.5.08

I'm not sure if you've seen this movie yet but I'm pretty sure you should.

The message kinda hit me hard. We're always searching for something different, always trying to move on to bigger (do I dare say better) things. When really if you look around you see that you're actually in the right place at the right time. It might not seem that way a lot of the time but when you look back you know it is. We don't really appreciate the things, people and relationships in our lives until we look back and realize we took them for granted. Well I am done doing that. I'm going to start loving and appreciating each experience and relationship with all my heart. Change is good but so is whats happening now. Ready, Steady, Go.

PS. It must be terrible to be Billy Rae Cyrus' kids that aren't Hannah Montana. It sure seems like he pours his whole heart/energy into that girl. Does he have time for the rest?

PPS. I love country music. Specifically the ballets. They really pull at my heartstrings. I'm being completely serious about that.
